It was while writing my cookbook, Chocolate that I realized how difficult it is to find a really good baking chocolate. If you don’t have the time or inclination to temper couverture chocolate (that’s the kind with finicky cocoa butter in it) in order to make it set on your bakes, then baking chocolate is your only option.

The Kate Tin Baking Range is essentially all the products I wish were available on supermarket shelves, made delicious and most importantly, made sustainably.

Because I never want my pleasure to come at the expense of anyone or anything.

I’ve partnered with my husband, who is a chocolate-maker (convenient, right?!), to create a range of baking chocolate that is made from ethically-sourced ingredients with an ingredients list that is as short and sweet as possible.

The Kate Tin range of baking chocolate uses sustainably-sourced palm oil – the first baking chocolate in South Africa to do so.  Along with sustainably-sourced cocoa powder and local South African sugar, this range of baking chocolates not only tastes good but is good for the environment and cocoa farmers too.

The chocolate comes in small drops making it easy to melt (and eat!).
